Resilient Migration Somalia: Resilience Design as a Nature-based Durable Solution to IDP Resettlement
This document articulates the “why” behind Resilience Design (RD) as a human-centered, ecologically grounded approach to planning and implementation in IDP, refugee, and high-density settlement contexts. Using the Jowhar Offstream Storage Programme (JOSP) project in Somalia as a case study, it demonstrates how ecological processes can serve as the foundation for long-term stability, improved living conditions, increased production capacity, and climate resilience in vulnerable environments.
